Coaching

Coaching lets you share your trading data with a mentor, or mentor other traders yourself. You keep full control of exactly what you share and with whom, and either side can step away at any time. Everything lives under the Coaching section in the left sidebar.

The big picture

There are two ways to use Coaching — and you can do both at once:

Get coached

Give a coach access to your trades so they can review your performance and leave feedback.

Be a coach

View the data traders share with you, comment on it, and generate reports for them.

You become a coach automatically the first time you accept a coaching invitation, or the moment you publish a coach profile.

The tabs

When you open Coaching, you'll see these tabs:

TabWhat it's for
My sharingInvite a coach by email and manage who currently has access to your data.
Find a coachBrowse the public directory of coaches and request coaching.
CoachingYour inbox: invitations sent to you, and the traders you currently coach.
Coach profilePublish a profile so other traders can find you in the directory.
Mentees(Coaches only) View the data of the traders you coach.
Part 1

Getting coached

Choose what you share

Before inviting anyone, it helps to know the two choices you'll make:

Scope — how much you share

  • Whole workspace — everything: all your accounts and strategies.
  • A single account — only that account's trades.
  • A single strategy — only trades under that strategy.

Permission — what they can do

  • View only — they can see your data but not interact with it.
  • View & comment — they can also leave comments on your trades and sessions.

You can give different coaches different scopes and permissions.

Option A — Invite a specific coach by email

Use this when you already know who you want as a coach.

  1. 1Go to Coaching → My sharing.
  2. 2In Invite a coach, enter the coach's email.
  3. 3Pick the scope (workspace / account / strategy) and the permission level.
  4. 4Optionally add a message (e.g. "Please review my swing trades").
  5. 5Click Send invitation.

The coach receives an email link and an in-app notification. They accept (or decline) from their side. Until they accept, the invitation sits in your Sent invitations list, where you can cancel it.

Option B — Find a coach in the directory

Use this when you want to discover a coach.

  1. 1Go to Coaching → Find a coach.
  2. 2Browse the cards. Each shows the coach's name, a short bio, how many traders they coach, and their own trading stats (win rate, profit factor, etc.).
  3. 3Sort by Most mentees, Win rate, or Profit factor to compare.
  4. 4On a coach you like, click Request coaching.
  5. 5Choose an access level (View only / View & comment), optionally add a short message, and click Send request.

The coach is notified and can accept or decline. Once you've sent a request the card shows Requested.

A directory request always shares your whole workspace. You can narrow it later by revoking and re-inviting with a smaller scope if you prefer.

Manage who has access

In My sharing you'll see:

  • Sent invitations — requests still waiting for a response. You can cancel any of these.
  • Coaches with access — the coaches who currently see your data. Click Revoke on any of them to immediately cut off access.

When you revoke access, the coach is notified and loses access right away. You can always invite them again later.

Part 2

Being a coach

Get discovered: publish your coach profile

Listing yourself in the directory is optional, but it's how new traders find you.

  1. 1Go to Coaching → Coach profile.
  2. 2Enter a display name (how you'll appear in the directory) and an optional bio.
  3. 3Turn on List me in the directory.
  4. 4Save.

You need a display name before you can make your profile public. Turning the listing off keeps you a coach but hides you from the directory. Your own trading stats shown on your card are calculated automatically — only ratios are shown, never your actual profit/loss amounts.

Respond to invitations and requests

When a trader invites you (or requests coaching from the directory), it appears in Coaching → Coaching (your inbox), under Pending invitations.

  • Accept — you immediately gain access and the trader becomes one of your mentees.
  • Decline — you'll be asked to confirm, and the trader is notified.

The first time you accept an invitation, your account becomes a coach account and the Mentees tab appears automatically.

View your mentees

Once you're coaching someone, open Coaching → Mentees.

  • You'll see a card for each trader you coach, with their headline stats.
  • Click a card to open that trader's detail view, where you can explore Analytics (performance metrics and charts), Trades (a read-only list — expand a trade to see its journal and any screenshots), and Reports (generate, download, and manage reports).
  • If a trader shared their whole workspace, use the scope selector at the top to switch between their accounts and strategies. If they shared a single account or strategy, you'll see just that.

You only ever see exactly what each trader chose to share.

Comment on a mentee's trades and sessions

If a trader granted you View & comment access:

  • Open one of their trades or sessions and use the comment box to leave feedback.
  • The trader can reply, and you can reply back — it's a two-way conversation.
  • Both sides are notified when the other posts a comment.

With View only access, you can see everything but the comment box won't be available.

Generate a report for a mentee

From a mentee's Reports tab you can create a report about their trading:

  1. 1Click Generate report.
  2. 2Choose the report type, period, account, and the sections you want.
  3. 3Generate it — it processes in the background, then you can download it (PDF / CSV / Excel), regenerate, or delete it.

The trader is notified that you generated a report.

Step away from a trader

If you no longer want to coach someone, go to Coaching → Coaching, find them under Traders you coach, and click Leave. You'll confirm, then you immediately lose access and the trader is notified. They can invite you again later.

Comments at a glance

Comments work the same whether you're the trader or the coach:

  • They live on individual trades and trading sessions.
  • Anyone with View & comment access (and the data owner) can post.
  • You can reply once to a comment to keep a thread.
  • You can edit or delete your own comments.
  • The other person gets a notification when you post.

Notifications

Coaching keeps you in the loop with pop-up notifications (and matching entries in your notifications bell). You'll be notified when:

  • An invitation you sent is accepted or declined.
  • A coach leaves (resigns from) coaching you.
  • A trader revokes your access.
  • Someone requests coaching from you via the directory.
  • A new comment is posted on a trade or session you're part of.
  • A coach generates a report about your data.

Clicking View on a coaching notification takes you straight to the relevant place in the Coaching section.

Quick answers

Do I need anything special to start?

No — anyone can invite a coach or be invited. You only “become a coach” once you accept an invitation or publish a profile.

Can a coach see my profit/loss?

Only if you share data with them directly. In the public directory, coaches' own stats are shown as ratios only — never actual money amounts.

Can I limit what a coach sees?

Yes — choose a scope (whole workspace, one account, or one strategy) and a permission level (view only, or view & comment) when you invite them.

Can I change my mind?

Always. Traders can revoke a coach's access at any time; coaches can leave at any time. Either side is notified.

What if I invited the wrong person, or they haven't responded?

Cancel the invitation from My sharing → Sent invitations.

How do I stop appearing in the directory?

Go to Coach profile and turn off List me in the directory. You'll stay a coach for anyone you already work with.
